Hail and farewell

Three people
Are cleaning
Two stones (two women)
In one graveyard (one man)

Scrubbing the pain away
Wash the graves with fairy liquid
As if death might be made fresh
Cleansed

Remind me
Of the wretched funeral rites
Of Cattallus 101's (introduction to grief)
Dirty grief (filthy grief)

Two body parts
Serve no purpose
The clitoris and the tear duct
The twin echoes of wailing mothers

Filthy grief
Is sanitised
With every repetition (wipe away the rage)
More absurd (good as new)

Atque in perpetuum, frater, ave atque vale.
